2024 Germany Export Mission Recap
SUMMARY
The MMF Canada team brought fifteen music managers and self-managed artists on our Germany export mission to make new connections and build their businesses overseas. The mission consisted of activities in Berlin and Hamburg from September 16 - 19, 2024, including taking part in the Reeperbahn Festival.

1. Mission Activities in Berlin:
* Held in partnership with Embassy of Canada to Germany, in Berlin, the Trade Commissioner Service, and CIMA *
September 16 - Delegates met with Berlin-based industry for a series of roundtable meetings at Embassy of Canada to Germany followed by a showcase by Aysanabee and a networking reception.
September 17 - Delegates participated in a series of presentations and office visits to connect with the Berlin music industry. This day concluded by taking the Reeperbahn festival train to Hamburg, allowing for continued networking and relationships building.
2. Mission Activities in Hamburg:
September 18 - Delegates took part in one-to-one business meetings with German and international music industry professionals.
September 19 - Delegates attended our Music Manager Meet Up networking event co-presented with EMMA (European Music Managers Alliance) and AAM Australia (Association of Artist Managers Australia) and were able to continue to connect with international managers and music industry professionals.
CANADA HOUSE SHOWCASES: Many mission delegates and MMF Canada members were part of the successful and well attended Canada House showcase series organized by CIMA, including Super Duty Tough Work (Misfit Music Management), Aysanabee (Jenn Sookdeo, SOOKS Productions), Pallmer (self-managed), and Dominique Fils-Aimé (En Soul Records). MANAGER BUDDIES PROGRAM: A number of mission delegates and MMF Canada members participated in the Manager Buddies program run in partnership with EMMA (European Music Managers Alliance), AAM Australia (Association of Artist Managers Australia), and MMF UK, where we group together managers from different countries to make connections before, during, and after the Reeperbahn Festival.
