The MMF Canada Export Mission in the UK is a series of events and receptions at Focus Wales and The Great Escape in May 2023.
This Export Mission for Artist Managers and Self-Managed Artists will feature an exclusive event in London, presented in partnership with the High Commission of Canada in the UK, on May 9, 2023 from 9AM - 2PM, which will include curated industry meetings.
Eligibility criteria for the MMF Canada UK Export Mission:
Successful applicants must be MMF Canada members to participate in the Export Mission. Applications are open to non-members, but you must become a member to take part in the mission if you are selected. Not yet a member? Click here to join MMF Canada.
You must have a Business Number or Corporation Number to apply.
Applicants must be Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident and you must be working for a Canadian company, or for yourself.
MMF Mission delegates will receive 50% of their flight costs reimbursed*, and a minimum of $400 CAD to support their accommodation and per diem expenses during the mission. *Please note that eligible flights must be economy class flights. Delegates must provide MMF Canada with itemized and applicable receipts to receive reimbursement.
ALL Mission Delegates must attend the entirety of the event in London on May 9, 2023.
Delegates attending FOCUS Wales and/or The Great Escape may be eligible for additional financial support of up to $1600 CAD. Please note that support is dictated by attendance.

FOCUS Wales (May 4-6, 2023)
FOCUS Wales is back and will take place over 4th–6th May 2023! FOCUS Wales is an international multi-venue showcase festival taking place in Wrexham, North Wales, which places the music industry spotlight firmly on the emerging talent that Wales has to offer the world, alongside a selection of the best new acts from across the globe. FOCUS Wales 2023 will mark the festival's 12th edition, and will welcome over 20,000 people to the town, building upon 2022′s record attendance across a jam-packed weekend of events. There's no place like Wrexham during FOCUS Wales, as we showcase 250+ artists, fill out a variety of spaces and music venues, using 20 stages, and hosting a full schedule of interactive industry sessions, arts events, and film screenings, throughout the festival.
The Great Escape Festival and Conference (May 10-13 2023)
The Great Escape is the festival for new music, showcasing 500 emerging artists from all over the world in 30+ walkable venues across the city and a pop-up festival site on Brighton Beach. It’s the first place to discover your new favourite artist and see them in an intimate setting before they go on to headline major festival stages. TGE is also attended by the music industry who are on the hunt for the next big thing. We run a conference alongside the gigs featuring insightful panels, topical debates, keynote speeches and networking opportunities in abundance. The Alternative Escape, our Spotlight Shows, secret gigs, club nights and spontaneous collaborations all add to the festivities and make this weekend in Brighton one not to miss.
