We are bringing our in-person networking series, presented by Danyliw & Mann, to Hamilton during the JUNO Awards. Join us for a panel discussion, curated by GEMS Management, about navigating management in the modern music landscape and the opportunities and challenges faced by managers. 

Followed by an industry mixer, you’ll be able to connect with other artists, managers, and music industry professionals based in the Hamilton area as well as those in town for the JUNO Awards. Food provided by Mary Browns Chicken.

PANELISTS

CARLOS PINEDA

Carlos Pineda is a Latino-Canadian entrepreneur and seasoned executive in the music and entertainment industries. As Founder and CEO of MCMXVI Inc., Carlos leads a boutique management company that develops and manages artists, producers, and creative talent. He currently manages acclaimed artists and producers including Haviah Mighty, John Fellner, KTOE, BEDRM, SlickMadeThat, KAYAM, Baby Linda and Notifi.

With over a decade of experience, Carlos notably managed Kardinal Offishall and has worked with past clients such as Alx Veliz, Unimerce, Emanuel and Ship Wrek. He is also a former owner of Regulars Bar, a popular Toronto venue that closed in August 2022 due to Metrolinx subway construction.

In 2026, Carlos launched his independent record label distributed through Universal Music, further expanding his footprint in artist development and recorded music.

Carlos serves on the Board of Directors for both MMF Canada (Music Managers Forum Canada) and the Unison Fund, a charitable organization supporting Canada’s music community. He is also an active seed investor in early-stage ventures including LEDN, Rekt Global, Portal and Quantum Bridge.

Recognized as a “Music Manager to Watch” by Billboard Canada in 2025, Carlos is dedicated to helping artists scale their brands, develop business opportunities, and expand internationally.


ALISON PERDUE

I specialize in artist management, project coordination, and marketing strategies. A graduate of Toronto Metropolitan University in Creative Industries (Music Business & Accounting), I have gained valuable experience through internships with UTA, Paradigm Talent Agency, and LoyalT Management, as well as through my previous role as Project Coordinator at 604 Records/Light Organ Records.

Currently, I serve as a Day-to-Day Manager at Wednesday Management, working closely with The Beaches, Alex Porat, Valley, and Montreal-based producer Connor Seidel. In this role, I oversee daily operations, contribute to the development of release strategies, and create impactful social media campaigns that amplify artist visibility and fan engagement.


CRAIG “BIG C” MANNIX

Craig “Big C” Mannix is a veteran music industry executive and cultural strategist who has been an influential figure in the Canadian music landscape since the early 1990s. Craig has played a role in the development and marketing of artists including K-os, Kardinal Offishall, Choclair, Sean Paul, and Pressa, helping bridge Canadian hip-hop and reggae with global audiences.

Craig has led marketing campaigns and strategic initiatives across major companies including Universal Music Group, Sony Music, EMI Music Canada, BMG, and Tommy Boy Records, building a reputation for connecting artists, brands, and culture.

Craig previously founded Offshoot Communications, a lifestyle marketing agency that worked with brands such as Nike, Adidas, and Nokia, while also supporting culturally influential brands including LRG, Freshjive, and Casio G-Shock.

Today Craig leads Big Consulting, a boutique agency specializing in music strategy, cultural marketing, sponsorships, and artist development, working with organizations including VP Records, CMRRA, and Uchenna Basketball Academy. Craig is also the creator of Big Playback, a curated vinyl listening platform celebrating music culture through intentional listening experiences and community events.
