DESCRIPTION
We’ve heard of public performance royalties, mechanical royalties - but what are Neighbouring Rights and royalties exactly? The Copyright Act of Canada exists to ensure that creators are fairly compensated when their creations are used. Re:Sound is the only organization authorized under the Copyright Act to collect any neighbouring rights royalties that may be owing to you. This session, presented by Re:Sound’s Industry Partner Specialist, will provide a history and overview of Re:Sound and its role in the music ecosystem, and an overview of the Neighbouring Rights regime and how it works. This session is suited for artist managers and self-managed artists of all experience levels who want to improve their understanding of rights and royalties.
TICKETS
This event is free to all managers, artists and industry. MMF Canada welcomes the attendance of non-members.
* Le webinaire se tiendra en anglais.
