Elevating today’s and future generations of Canadian music managers and self-managed artists.
Music Managers Forum Canada (MMF Canada) is the leading, nation-wide non-profit trade association and voice for music management. By providing extensive education, networking, advocacy, and lobbying for its members, MMF Canada is strengthening a network of empowered entrepreneurs who are the backbone of Canada’s music industry. MMF Canada supports music managers and artists at every stage of their careers, from emerging to established, to build strong business acumen, reach their goals, and create sustainable, long-term careers for themselves in the national and international music industry.
GOALS
Educate artists and artist managers through workshops, seminars, online resources, and mentorships.
Provide networking opportunities between our Members and other industry affiliates within Canada and internationally.
Lobby and advocate on behalf of our members and their artists on relevant government and non-government issues.
Strengthen our Members’ business operations and the development of their artists careers.
Collaborate with strategic partners within the larger music community for the benefit of our members.
Acknowledge and bridge socio-economic gaps for equity-deserving communities (i.e. women, BIPOC, LGBTQIA+-identifying individuals) non-performative ways.
HISTORY
Since incorporating in 2000, MMF Canada has committed nearly three decades to raising professional standards and opportunities for music management in Canada. By aligning with partners nationally and internationally (including in the USA, UK, Germany, Australia and beyond), MMF Canada is ensuring far-reaching careers for its diverse membership base.
CODE OF CONDUCT
This document has been developed in consultation with MMF Canada Board, its membership, and associates. All MMF Canada members are asked to sign the Code of Conduct (“Code”) as a condition of membership.
Members of MMF Canada or any of its associates are expected to act lawfully, honestly, ethically, and in the best interests of their client(s) while performing the responsibilities of an artist manager.
