Transition Announcement + Thank You To Our Outgoing Executive Director

After over 7 years as Executive Director, Amie Therrien will be leaving Music Managers Forum (MMF) Canada at the end of October 2026. Amie has had a profound impact on the organization and the industry and her contributions will be greatly missed. The Board of Directors has brought on Elise Roller (CEO, Misfit Music Inc. and former MMF Canada Board member) as the interim Executive Director and has initiated a comprehensive transition plan. The Board and its Newly Elected Executive will work closely together as MMF Canada moves into its next chapter.

The MMF Canada team is grateful for Amie’s commitment to supporting the growth of the organization and the music management sector across Canada. As the first Executive Director of the almost 30 year old organization, Amie guided MMF Canada through a significant period of growth — including building the staff team during COVID, increasing both in-person and online programming, creating regular and consistent communications to keep the community connected, launching the member portal and online resource library, initiating mentorship programs and export missions, establishing a partnership with Billboard Canada for the MMF Canada Honour Roll, and spearheading the first nation-wide study of Music Management in Canada.

Alongside fulfilling her many responsibilities with the organization, Amie championed the next generation of music professionals, ensuring everyone felt welcome whether they were just starting out or had been in the industry for years. Reflecting on her time with MMF: "MMF’s role is building community and ensuring the music management sector is connected and has what it needs to thrive. It has been an honour to serve you — to support you through your challenges and to celebrate your wins. I am deeply proud of what our team has built and I look forward to following along as this community continues to grow stronger!”

"Under Amie's leadership, MMF Canada transformed into a strong, active, and globally connected organization," said Jill Snell, MMF Board Chair. "While we will miss her daily guidance, she leaves behind a resilient staff and a strong strategic foundation, ensuring MMF Canada is well-positioned for its next chapter of impact."

“MMF has significantly contributed to my own professional growth as a manager,” said Elise Roller, Interim Executive Director of MMF Canada, “Stepping into this role, I aim to build on the strong foundation Amie has left, to support our board and staff in this transition, and ensure our members continue to receive the advocacy, education, and community they rely on. I am deeply grateful to Amie for her leadership and generosity, and for everything she’s built for Canadian managers.”

The board will use this transitional period to assess MMF’s leadership structure and determine the best path forward for the organization. Updates will be posted on the Music Managers Forum website at www.mmfcanada.ca.
