2026 Australia Export Mission
Apply to be part of our first ever MMF Canada Export Mission to Australia for the BIGSOUND conference in Brisbane from September 1 to 4, 2026!
This opportunity is for managers and self-managed artists to build industry connections and grow their businesses in the Australian market.
This mission is in partnership with CIMA and the Sydney Consulate. Canada is the focus country at BIGSOUND and activities will include B2B sessions, networking events and more.
Mission delegates may be interested to note that the annual Australian Performing Arts Exchange (APEX) conference is happening in Brisbane the week after BIGSOUND and CAPACOA will be bringing a Canadian Delegation. MMF Canada will not be hosting events nor be able to provide funding for an extended stay but this event could provide a good opportunity to meet Australian presenters in the performing arts world.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
You must be a voting MMF Canada member. Not yet a member? Click here to join MMF Canada.
You must be a registered business (i.e. have a provincial or federal Business Number or Corporation Number).
You must be Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident and you must be working for a Canadian company, or for yourself.
You MUST attend the events during BIGSOUND. You must also take part in individual onboarding call(s) with the consulate staff to help understand your export needs to help curate your B2B meetings.
FUNDING INFORMATION:
MMF Mission delegates are eligible to receive:
50% of their flight costs reimbursed (direct route economy flights only)
$300 CAD per eligible day to support accommodation, meals, and incidental costs.
Eligible window for per diems is between Aug 27 to Sep 7 2026 - to a max of 10 days. Must be travelling to or from mission or attending BIGSOUND to be eligible for per diems.
Travel support will be paid out AFTER the event. Delegates must provide MMF Canada with flight, accommodation, and conference registration receipts.
Delegates will also be required to complete post-event survey, including the number of new contacts gained from the mission and the value of current and future business developments coming from mission participation.
