Open Letter in Support of Canada Music Fund: Co-Signing & Continued Action

The Canadian Independent Music Association (CIMA) has taken further steps to urge the Canadian government to fulfill its promise to raise investment in the Canada Music Fund, a critical investment program that supports music industry workers across the country. In a new open letter to The Honourable Chrystia Freeland, P.C., M.P. and The Honourable Pascale St-Onge, P.C., M.P., CIMA speaks on behalf of the national music community, addressing the adverse outcomes of lowering the CMF, including job losses, business closures, staff layoffs, and an increasingly unstable live music scene. MMF Canada has co-signed the letter, along with several other music organizations and associations. Read the full letter on CIMA’s website here.

Share your concern and support for CMF — it’s not too late to take action. Send an email to your local Liberal MP if you have one. The Canadian Independent Music Association has made the process easier by providing an email template on this campaign page.
