SPEAKER
Erin Lowers, Artist Partnerships Manager, TikTok Canada
Spending much of her career in music journalism, digital content creation and festival programming, Erin has led her career pushing Canadian music to the forefront of the entertainment industry. Taking a boots-to-the-ground and community mentality, she has advocated for artists and their stories through festival programming (SXSW, A3C, NXNE, CMW, Manifesto) and written work. The latter has been published nationally and internationally (Noisey, Red Bull, Complex, HotNewHipHop, United Masters, The JUNO Awards, Superchamp Books’ ‘Best Damn Hip Hop Writing: 2018’, CBC Music etc.), and Exclaim! Magazine, where she was the Hip-Hop Editor for several years until 2020. Pushing her passion for journalism and artist relations forward, Erin has also worked as an interview producer and researcher for the Emmy and Peabody award-winning Netflix series Hip-Hop Evolution. Most recently, she worked in digital streaming as a Hip-Hop / R&B programmer and curator for YouTube Music and has since has taken the sum of all parts of her career to lead Artist Partnerships for Canada at TikTok.
