DESCRIPTION
Collective Music Licensing in the Digital Age, with CMRRA
Established in 1975 and headquartered in Toronto, CMRRA represents music copyright owners who are doing business in Canada. When streaming services launched in Canada in 2004, CMRRA was at the forefront, ensuring music publishers and songwriters got paid and that the reproduction right of songs was properly valued. This session will provide an overview of what CMRRA does as leaders in the collective licensing space, why it matters to creatives, and how it’s evolving. We’ll also take a look at CMRRA’s Unclaimed Works Portal tool which is available to clients & non-clients as well as the newly-launching-in-2021 International Collections Service, followed by a Q+A. .
SPEAKERS:
Marianne Anderson: Publisher Relations Manager
Rebecca Webster: Director, Industry Relations & Communications at CMRRA.
