SPEAKERS:
Cherie Hu - Water & Music
Cherie Hu is the founder and publisher of Water & Music, a newsletter and budding research DAO focused on analyzing music/tech trends. Previously, she penned hundreds of articles on music and tech as a freelance writer for publications including Billboard, Forbes, Pitchfork and Variety. She has spoken as an expert commentator on CNBC, CGTN America and SiriusXM Volume; as a guest lecturer at institutions like Harvard University, New York University, Northeastern University and Berklee Valencia; and as a moderator, panelist or keynoter at over 30 conferences around the world.
Kristin Grant - Westcott Multimedia
Grant founded Westcott after discovering a fundamental problem in the music industry, that rights holders do not have access to the information they need to make informed marketing decisions and grow their business. She discovered this after running the PR, marketing, and digital distributors for Barrington Levy’s Grammy Nominated album. Westcott Multimedia is an evolution of Grant’s work experiences from Next Big Sound to writing from Billboards Streaming Twitter Charts and Forbes to working as an entertainment analyst at an investment firm in New York. Prior to starting Westcott, Grant managed Global Playlist strategies at Universal Music Group. Grant has a master's degree in Music Business from New York University, an undergraduate degree in Entrepreneurial Studies, and a Certificate of Entertainment Law from the University of Osgoode Law School.
