BMP is a music management mentorship program for managers, self-managed artists, music entrepreneurs, and emerging music professionals. The program aims to help create opportunities for advancing the professional development efforts of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color who wish to cultivate their careers in the management and business sectors of the Canadian music landscape.

MENTEE BENEFITS

(5) Monthly one on one meetings with a mentor.

(5) Exclusive industry workshops curated for professional development.

Free membership to MMF Canada including free access to monthly webinars and the online resources portal.

$1000.00 as a bursary to help you reach your career goals.


MENTEE COMMITTMENTS

*Mentees are expected to take the lead in booking their own meetings and share their professional development goals with their mentors.  Either online or in person. 

*Commit to fully immersing yourself in the program. We understand that conflicts come up from time to time, however, we expect that mentees will aim to arrange their schedules to take advantage of all meetings and workshops where possible.

*1 hour per month in mentor meetings.

*1 hour per month in workshops.

*Complete a survey at the end of the program.

*Must be available for the majority of workshop dates.

SELECTION PROCESS The selection committee will be made up of music management professionals who identify as Black, Indigenous, or Persons of Colour. They will review and score each application on past & present projects and your goals for the duration of the program.

ELIGIBILITY Open to all provinces. Must be a Canadian citizen, Permanent Resident, or legally working and living in Canada to apply for this mentorship program. Must self-identify as being Black, Indigenous or as a Person of Color. All genres of music. We welcome all genders, non-binary and 2SLGBTQAI+ communities and anyone with disabilities or accessibility requirements Must be 18+.
